Perched among the granite kopjes in the heart of Serengeti National Park, Warangi Ridge by The Wilderness Collection is one of Tanzania’s most exciting new safari gems.  Launched in September 2025, this proudly Tanzanian-owned property offers panoramic views over savanna grasslands, with an incredible, cascading rock pool below.

Warangi Ridge recently launched its new spa and wellness concept, designed by Dubai-based spa expert Nadine Joubert.  Asili (meaning essence or source of nature in Swahili), is an immersive, sensory-led wellness journey which starts from the moment guests touch down in the Serengeti and lingers long after their departure.

Asili encompasses the whole guest experience, from their warm Swahili welcome to the beautiful, tented suite they will call home for a few days, their incredible wildlife experiences and the memories and sense of wellbeing they take home with them.

Inspired by the landscapes of Tanzania and the restorative power of nature, Asili Spa & Wellness invites visitors to slow down, set aside the stresses of their daily lives – and reconnect and experience wellness in its most natural form.

In between safari activities, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge in some much-needed rest, relaxation and self-care.  Be that taking a dip in their private, heated plunge pool – enjoying a long nap, spending a session in the gym, relaxing with a drink on one of the elevated decks overlooking the Serengeti – or indulging in some “me-time” pampering in the new Asili Spa. 

Even the pathway leading to the spa is a multi-sensory experience.  On arrival, spa goers are encouraged to pick an affirmation tag off the “Tree of Intention” at the centre of the circular, tented spa to reflect on, and if they so wish, to take home as a bookmark memento. 

All new arrivals are invited to enjoy a complimentary 15-minute, lavender infused foot cleansing massage - a wonderful way to relieve travel tension of their journey.  The spa menu includes a range of massages and beauty treatments.  A half-day spa session also includes a fresh, seasonal wellness lunch.

If and when therapists are free in the evenings, complimentary hand & arm massage treatments are offered around the firepit to elevate evening sundowners to the next level.

Rooted in nature, the Asili experience extends far beyond the spa’s treatment rooms — guiding guests through reflective, grounding moments of touch, scent, breath, movement and space. For example, each guest gets a daily, scented wellness card at turndown. Each element is intentionally designed to create a deeper sense of connection, grounding, restoration, balance and calm.

The lodge also offers a peaceful yoga deck to enjoy sunrise yoga, sound vibration healing rituals, guided meditation and breathwork and even mindful pause and reflection journaling.  For those looking to keep up their fitness and indulge in further self-care there is also a fully equipped gym.
