Bushtops Safari Camps - East Africa
Bushtops Safari Camps, in East Africa offers some of the most luxurious and immersive safari experiences imaginable. With a deep commitment to conservation and sustainability, this family owned collection of three camps provides an unforgettable and authentic “wild luxury” safari, with front row seats to the iconic wildebeest migration.
Camps include Mara Bushtops which overlooks a busy saltlick in Kenya’s Masai Mara and Serengeti Bushtops and Roving Bushtops, a seasonal mobile camp, in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.
Bushtops’ new 6x6 Beest is also available as an extra in the Serengeti, as the ultimate luxury safari vehicle.
Kaelo Destinations - Mashatu (Botswana) & Pambele (Mozambique)
Mashatu Game Reserve is a 31 000ha expanse of pristine wilderness known for its huge herds of elephant, big cat sightings, baobab trees and vast landscapes. Safaris are by guided game drive, mountain bike, walking or horseback . Its underground hides attracts photographers from around the globe. Accommodation includes Mashatu Tent Camp, Tuli Safari Lodge Mashatu, Mashatu Lodge and Mashatu Euphorbia Villas as well as the Kolokolo Safari Home and Shalimpo Safari Home.
Sister lodge Pambele Beach House is located on Mozambique’s San Sebastian Peninsula within the Bazaruto Archipelago, offering the ultimate in barefoot luxury. It provides a home from home for up to ten guests across five sea-facing villas.
Onguma Safari Camps - Namibia
Onguma Safari Camps is a Namibian collection of lodges based within a private Big 4 (no buffalo) nature reserve on the eastern fringe of Etosha National Park.
Onguma Nature Reserve boasts a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets including Onguma Camp Kala, Onguma The Fort, Onguma Bush Camp, Onguma Tented Camp and Onguma Forest Camp. There are also two luxury camp sites.
Highlights include the Onkolo photographic hide and a sleep out under the stars, the Onguma Dream Cruiser.
Oguma Trails Camp launched April 2025 offering 2/3 night trails run from April to end September.
The Cavern Drakensberg - KZN, SA
The Cavern is a family owned and run retreat in KwaZulu-Natal’s newly proclaimed Northern Drakensberg Nature Reserve, which, along with its sister camp Sungubala, offers a magnificent home from home, ideally located for exploring The Maloti-Drakensberg World Heritage Site and truly embrace the great outdoors, be it hiking, fishing, mountain biking, embracing your inner adrenaline junkie…or simply relaxing and reconnecting with Nature and your loved ones.

Mosetlha Bush Camp & Eco Lodge - SA
Mosetlha is a family owned and run bush camp in the heart of Madikwe Game Reserve. It’s rare nowadays to find a camp that is still charmingly rustic whilst offering an unforgettable, world-class safari experience.
This unfenced eco camp is firmly focused on “thrills over frills” and promises an authentic wilderness experience - with a minimal ecological impact. The donkey boiler to ensure hot showers is a firm favourite!
Big 5 safaris are the showstopper here - and Mosetlha’s guides are top notch. Jonny was voted in the Top 3 “Specialist Guides” in the World by Wanderlust Magazine UK in 2021.
Guide Justice is also a fully qualified walking trails guide, so Mosetlha guests are in for a real treat!
Carmines River Lodge - Zambia
Carmines River Lodge is set to debut in June 2026 in Zambia’s South Luangwa Valley, home to the world’s largest carmine bee eater colony.
The lodge is set on a private island between two rivers with regular sightings of elephants, big cats and wild dogs and is 10 mins from South Luangwa National Park and 20 mins from Nsefu Game Reserve.
The lodge will feature three elevated 2-bedroom villas (sleeping up to 18 guests), each with private deck, plunge pool, personal host, and dedicated guide with six-seater game vehicle for game drives and walking safaris. The main lodge features dining areas, a boma and fire pit, an infinity pool, wine room, boutique, gym and media room. In-room spa treatments and children’s activities will be available.
Tembe Elephant Park & Lodge - KZN, SA
Tembe Elephant Lodge in northern KwaZulu-Natal is a fabulous community-owned and run game lodge within a proclaimed Big 5 game reserve, known for its huge tuskers.
Nestled in a rare and beautiful sand forest ecosystem, the lodge lies at the heart of unspoiled wilderness, offering an authentic and deeply meaningful safari experience.
Accommodation comprises luxury tented accommodation, thoughtfully designed to offer privacy and comfort, including air-conditioning, outdoor showers and private decks with camping chairs. Rates at Tembe are very reasonable and start from just 160 USD / pp sharing per night in low season including all meals, two daily guided game drives and transfers to and from the hide during the day. Children 12 & under pay 50%.
The Wilderness Collection - Tanzania
Craters Edge is a luxurious tented camp perched on the north-eastern rim of Tanzania’s iconic Ngorongoro Crater, nestled in beautiful acacia woodland and, notably, just ten minutes’ drive from all the wildlife action on the crater floor. Crater's Edge comprises 15 beautifully appointed tented suites designed for absolute comfort and immersion in nature, complete with authentic African décor and modern amenities.
Warangi Ridge Lodge launched in the central Serengeti in late 2025, featuring 15 tented suites inspired by the rare pangolin, granite cliff, offering panoramic views over the Serengeti. The main guest areas are perched high on granite cliff with a fabulous rock pool below.
The fully equipped gym launched in January 2026 and its new spa is due to launch in 2026.
Shearzone Safaris - Zambia
Shearzone Safaris is a proudly Zambian-owned company with a growing portfolio of lodges. Their vision goes far beyond traditional safaris— they are dedicated to creating authentic travel experiences that immerse our guests in Zambia’s breathtaking wilderness and vibrant cultural heritage.

OurAfrica.Travel is a virtual trade show connecting Africa, Indian Ocean Islands with global travel trade.
The next show will run from 16 - 20 March 2026 with a full week of 20-minute meetings.

Recent Projects and Clients
Nianova
Worked for 3 years on some incredibly exciting projects for Nianova which included Fireblade Aviation, Niarra Travel, JAN and Tswalu Kalahari, which are part of the Oppenheimer Generations community. I spent 3 years working on Weeva, the sustainability management platform, now acquired by Travalyst in the UK.
I also wrote the internal Nianova Newsletters. Nianova has since ceased to operate.
The Cocoon Collection is a family-owned portfolio of luxury resorts in the stunning Indian Ocean, which prides itself on ultra personalized service, and a wide range of experiences in elegant and unique properties.
Zanzibar properties include Gold Zanzibar Beach House & SPA, The Island Pongwe and the new Bawe Island, which launched in July 2024.
Resorts in the Maldives include Cocoon Maldives, You & Me Maldives and Joy Island.

Ad Hoc PR Projects
Umlingo offers PR services based on as little as 2 days a month to make international PR (UK is the main focus) more affordable for small, sustainable hotels and lodges that don’t have big budgets, but still want a media presence.
I will also consider occasional projects, if and when I have capacity, such as media events.
