Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton at the underwater H20 Restaurant at You & Me Maldives by The Cocoon Collection

From 19 to 24 May 2025, Gourmet Week, one of the most anticipated events of the gastronomic calendar, will be taking place at You&Me Maldives by The Cocoon Collection, the exclusive adults-only resort nestled in the Raa Atoll.

 

The undisputed protagonists of this new edition are the Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton and the Corporate Executive of The Cocoon Collection Chef Giovanni De Ambrosis, who together will give life to a unique culinary journey, capable of blending Mediterranean elegance with the innovation and warmth of local Maldivian ingredients.

 

“Cooking in the Maldives is always a magical experience. The setting is unique and stimulates creativity.  I love bringing the flavours of our Italian tradition into dialogue with the wonderful local ingredients.  It's a true meeting of seas and cultures,” enthusiastically declares Chef Berton, who returns to tread the sand of You&Me with its refined and contemporary cuisine.

“Collaborating on such a high-calibre event means being able to combine the best of two worlds: tradition and innovation. Together with Andrea, I want to tell a story of flavours that unite the Mediterranean and the exotic riches of the Maldives. The gastronomic journey will open on Wednesday 21 May at 7.30 pm with an exclusive dinner at The Sand restaurant. Under the stars, guests can indulge in the refined Branzino Maldivian in black with local fish soup and salicornia, symbol of the meeting between the South Seas and the elegance of Italian cuisine.

 

Subsequently, on Friday 23 May from 12.30, the open-air restaurant Green Carpet will host a signature lunch: Roasted scallops, asparagus, papaya and almonds, a dish that enhances the perfect combination of sweetness, freshness and the richness of local ingredients reinterpreted in Mediterranean key.
